In 1989 Reiner and Gillian Stommel
purchased the farm
Otjikondo and decided to renovate
the old buildings and turn
them into a Primary School for
underpriviliged Namibian
children.
The Otjikondo School Village was
established and registered
as an Association not for Gain
and Hanns-Seidel Foundation
became a partner in the development
of the project.
The project aims to offer accademic
opportunities to enable
also poor children a future perspective
in a global world.
Therefore Otjikondo offer a high
quality education and
encourages a programme of afternoon
activities and extra
lessons to enable the children
to discover talents and interests.
Reiner and Gillian Stommel continue
to guide and develope
the Otjikondo School Village project.
