Grades 1 to 7 are all taught by a qualified Namibian teacher
and are supported by two or three volunteers who work at
Otjikondo on a yearly basis. These volunteers are responsible
for compulsory art, craft, music and sport lessons. They also
support children with remedial classes in maths and reading
and take small groups of first year pupils for oral English
classes, as Otjikondo is an English-medium school.

In 2005 another class, Wings, was added to the school, to
cater for children with identified difficulties.

The school is now so renowned that each year over 200
applications are made for the coveted 35 places available.
The school is situated in a Damara-speaking region and
while it principally aims to take children from the local area
an effort is also made to include children from different ethnic
       backgrounds.
